McKenney’s is seeking a Business Technologist who is passionate about data, curious by nature, and motivated to solve complex problems across diverse market sectors—including healthcare, mission-critical, life sciences, office, and hospitality.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with our construction teams to turn data into actionable insights, challenges into practical solutions, and ideas into tools that make project management and field operations smarter, faster, and more efficient. You’ll collaborate with executives, project managers, and fellow technologists to drive strategic initiatives, execute our construction technology roadmap, and continuously improve how we work.

As a key contributor to our digital transformation efforts, you’ll help lead change management initiatives—ensuring successful adoption of new tools, processes, and technologies across the organization. This position offers hands-on experience with real-world construction data, exposure to a wide range of project types, and a strong foundation for building a long-term career in technology within an industry that’s rapidly evolving.
 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Construction Technology Strategy & Roadmap Execution

  • Support Construction leadership in maintaining and advancing the Construction Technology Roadmap and Construction Technology Project Inventory.
  • Execute prioritized technology initiatives aligned with McKenney’s digital strategy, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to define execution strategies, track progress, and communicate outcomes.
  • Lead or support implementation of new digital tools, analytics platforms, and workflow automations across Construction.
  • Assist in evaluating and testing new technology solutions to ensure functionality, usability, and alignment with business needs.

Change Management & User Adoption

  • Support and help lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of new tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and documentation to support onboarding and ongoing user enablement.
  • Facilitate user feedback sessions and document recurring challenges, enhancement requests, and adoption barriers.
  • Partner with Construction leadership to promote consistent tool usage and continuous process improvement.

Data Activation & Analytics

  • Activate and enhance data workflows by developing sustainable methods to collect, process, analyze, and report on critical construction project data.
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Tableau) that transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Analyze historical project data to identify trends and support the development of predictive models that improve safety, quality, productivity, and forecasting.
  • Improve data accuracy and reliability by identifying inconsistencies, documenting data quality issues, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Lead or support internal data quality improvement initiatives, coordinating between business stakeholders and IT teams.

Business Systems Support & Optimization

  • Provide first-line support for divisional software tools, including Smartsheet, Salesforce, and internal platforms.
  • Triage user issues and escalate complex system challenges as appropriate.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Smartsheet workflows and automations to support operational efficiency.
  • Document system configurations, business requirements, and process workflows to improve long-term support and scalability.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of McKenney’s business processes and tools to anticipate user needs and proactively improve system performance.

Business Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify unmet data, reporting, and workflow needs within Construction and propose scalable, innovative solutions.
  • Drive business process improvements by recommending automation, improved data capture strategies, and system enhancements.
  • Support efforts to increase trust in automation by ensuring tools produce consistent, transparent, and reliable outputs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a business, operations, or support role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or equivalent).
  • Strong interest in building technology-related problem-solving and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in field service, construction, operations, or customer support environments.
  • Familiarity with user training or documentation efforts in a business context.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Salesforce, Smartsheet, Stratus, UiPath (RPA), SQL, Dynamics, and Workato with a demonstrated ability to train others effectively on these platforms.
  • General understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its application to business technology.
  • Experience in defining, managing the execution of, and delivering data analytics or technology projects.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence, advanced Excel formulas, and other business intelligence tools to drive insights.

  • Familiar with technology basics, including mobile phone/tablet functions to assist in front-line support for business users.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and requests effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate work in a timely manner.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
  • Must possess and maintain an exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
