JOB SUMMARY

McKenney’s is seeking a Business Technology Co-op who is passionate about data, curious by nature, and eager to learn how technology solves complex problems across diverse market sectors.

You’ll help turn data into actionable insights, challenges into practical solutions, and ideas into tools that make project management and field operations smarter, faster, and more efficient. You’ll begin with well-defined tasks and supporting assignments and take on additional responsibility and independence each rotation.

You’ll receive direct mentorship and hands-on training while contributing to real digital transformation work—supporting the rollout and adoption of new tools, processes, and technologies across the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day responsibilities will be directed by the Business Technologist and may evolve based on business priorities, project needs, and the co-op's progression through three rotations.

  • Support the planning, coordination, testing, and implementation of construction technology initiatives, including tracking project progress, documenting requirements, and collaborating cross-functionally.

  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and validating construction data to develop dashboards, reports, and actionable insights that support operational decision-making.

  • Provide frontline support for business applications, including Smartsheet, Salesforce, and internal platforms, by troubleshooting issues, maintaining workflows, and escalating complex requests.

  • Support technology adoption and change management through user training, documentation, feedback collection, and ongoing assistance.

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, data quality, and operational efficiency through technology enhancements, workflow automation, and system improvements.

  • Assist with project coordination, stakeholder communication, and documentation to ensure technology initiatives align with business needs and are completed effectively.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Students must be enrolled in a Co-op program at an accredited 4-year undergraduate degree program majoring in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or another technology- or business-related major.

  • Candidates must be able to complete at least three full-time, alternating Co-op rotations prior to their graduation and should avoid a full courseload while working, which may delay graduation.

  • 1st Rotation: Spring 2027

  • 2nd Rotation: Fall 2027

  • 3rd Rotation: Summer 2028

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand business needs, apply technology fundamentals, and identify practical solutions.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and support internal customers.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating ownership of responsibilities and the ability to complete tasks with limited follow-up.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing assignments, work efficiently and consistently.

  • Commitment to accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

  • No or limited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visits may require climbing permanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists, and navigating active construction areas.

  • Light physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds may be required occasionally.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
